ABOUT HARRISON C. HARTMAN


Dr. Harrison C. Hartman holds a Ph.D. in economics from Penn State University.  He also has an M.B.A. from Saint Joseph’s University, a B.A. and an M.A. in economics from Penn State, and a high school diploma from Stroudsburg High School. 
 
Having authored or co-authored approximately fifteen journal articles, Harrison, a member of honor societies and a recipient of awards, has recently published his second book.  The main body of this book, Bad Breaks in Real GDP and Employment:  Exploring the Persistence of Aggregate Demand Shocks in the United States, is available from Palgrave Macmillan.  The 'online-only appendix' for Bad Breaks in Real GDP and Employment (short title) is 'under construction' and has sections that will continue to be posted to Harrison's blog website.  His first book, It’s Velocity Stupid!  Is the Velocity of Money the Forgotten Variable of Macroeconomics? was published in 2015. Harrison received positive feedback for both of his books and is continuing to work on book projects.

Harrison taught most recently at Emory University.  Prior to that, Harrison taught at Georgia State University, the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Ursinus College, and Penn State University, the latter while in graduate school.  Harrison was honored with teaching awards while at the University of Georgia and received recognition as a student at Penn State.  Harrison has an account on X/Twitter (@HarrisonCHartm1).
